I had a chance to take CS6475, Computational Photography, through Georgia Tech’s online master program. The remote learning experience provided insights into a different form of education that was more formal and rigorous than self-paced online education but more flexible than a traditional classroom.

One of the most interesting things I worked on was to reproduce Avidan and Shamir’s novel approach to image resizing– seam carving.

Seam carving makes it possible to reduce or enlarge an image while preserving the most salient aspects of that image. I created this video explainer:
